Artistic roller skating is an exciting and graceful sport which challenges people of all ages to develop their strength and endurance to compete in a range of disciplines.
Logan City Skate Around is an artistic roller skating club based in the Logan region in South East Queensland. The club encourages all skaters to develop their roller skating skills.
Learn to Skate and Club Training Covid-19
Following further changes to the Coronavirus requirement issued by Commonwealth, Sate and local government bodies, Learn to Skate and club training classes have now been cancelled for the foreseeable future.
Bring your credit card as all payments will be cashless. There will be NO cash payment facility available. See you soon for some learn to Skate fun ! If you have any questions, please use our Contact Page to ask them. We will continue to work with the Mt Warren Sports Centre and Skate Queensland regarding a recommencement date for 2021. Please regularly check this page, and the club's Facebook page, for ongoing updates. When we have details of the recommencement date, it will be published on both those pages. An announcement regarding recommencement of classes will also be made via email. Adult Learn to Skate class are held at 10:00am on Saturday mornings. This class is planned with the special needs of our adult skaters in mind. The instructor is one of the club's senior competition skaters and is a qualified junior coach. Whether you are a beginner, or have skated before, this class is for you. The skill levels of the regular participants range from raw beginner to skaters who participate in Masters competitions. The aim of this class is to get you skating, and above all, have some exercise and fun. Bring your children and show them what you can do !
Learn to Skate - Skate Stars Programme classes are held at 10:00am on Saturday mornings. These classes follow a five (5) step formal plan where participants learn specific skating skills as they progress from Level 0 through to Level 4. The instructors are some of the club's senior competition skaters and each is a qualified junior coach. The aim of these classes is to get you skating in a controlled and supervised environment while having fun. Bring your parents or guardians and show them what you can do ! Both the Adult Learn to Skate and Learn to Skate - Skate Stars Programme classes are supervised by our Head Coach, Anita Hunt. Anita's experience and knowledge gained as a skater, a competitor, a coach, and her role as the High Performance Coach for Australia means that participants are in good hands. Remember that skate hire is free for both classes, and that the first time you "Learn to Skate" with us is free for new skaters. 2021 Club Membership
Skaters who were club members in 2020, or earlier, will need to complete and pay for 2021 membership before being able to take the floor. This is an insurance requirement. More details relating to membership, include forms that can be downloaded and printed, can be found on the Member Information page.
